The animated Google Doodle exhibits Great Conjunction, wherein the Saturn and Jupiter meet up for a quick high five, and the Winter Solstice as the literally “snow capped” Earth watching the other two planets.

In the Northern Hemisphere, Google, in collaboration with NASA, has replaced their homepage logo. December, this year, 21 marks the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. On December 21 an incredible, astronomic event known as the ‘great conjunction’ is on the display.
Saturn & Jupiter will come within 0.1 degrees of each other. The great conjunction occurs roughly every 20 years. Google has collaborated with NASA to craft an animated Doodle depicting the great conjunction. Doodle shows Cartoon Saturn and Jupiter meeting up for a quick high five. It also shows the winter solstice as the literally ‘snow capped’ Earth watching the other two planets.
