Expressing concern over such advertisements, the court said that such advertisements portray women in a manner that violates decency and norms. A bench of Justices B Puglendhi and N Kirubarakan said that almost all TV channels broadcast some commercials after 10 pm with nudity to promote condom sales. Such material violates the provisions of the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994 and the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995. The court said that there are some advertisements which seem to be of aphrodisiac type. These are popularly called love drugs. These are no less than a porn film.
