
The Kerala High Court Wednesday served notification to cricketer Virat Kohli and entertainers Tamannaah Bhatia and Aju Varghese in connection with a petition demanding a ban on online rummy games.. The three VIPs have supported stages where online rummy games are played.
The High Court underlined that internet wagering was a grave social insidiousness and requested that the state government explain its remain on the issue.
The request, documented by Kochi-based Pauly Vadakkan, contended that online rummy games are illegal and hard to control. It asserted that specific stages running such games are utilizing big names to underwrite them in an offer to pull in the young and trap them monetarily.
The court has sent notification to Play Games 24*7 and Mobile Premier League which purportedly run rummy games. While Kohli is the brand represetative of Mobile Premier League, Tamannaah has acted in a promotion. Malayalam entertainer Aju Varghese has embraced rummy circle.
