New Delhi: The Center Tuesday told the Supreme Court that it was pondering “some activity” on the issue of directing OTT stages, for example, Netflix and Amazon Prime.

At the beginning, Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain said the Center was pondering some activity on the issue of managing OTT stages.
The CJI tried to know from Jain regarding what might be the activity from the public authority and requested that he document the reaction in about a month and a half while labeling the matter with the forthcoming appeal.
The top court had on October 15 a year ago gave notification to the focal government, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Internet and Mobile Association of India.

None of the OTT/Streaming stages including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Zee5, and Hotstar have marked the self-guideline given by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting since February 2020, it said.
The service had before told the top court in a different case that there is a need to direct computerized media and that the court may initially select a board of people as amicus prior to setting down rules as for the guideline of scorn discourse in the media.
